About me:
A responsible sense of humour incorporated with my work has always assisted me in my endeavours. I tend to thrive talking with groups of people about personal change. I love the process of helping people think in new ways to achieve their goals or simply to refelect on their comfort zones that may hold them back. My experience presenting positive change to people is varied with many well being subjects from health, lifestyle change and self motivation. I can adapt to almost any given situation involved with groups or individuals creating rapport.
I am most proud of bringing my son into the world and cultivating in him a sense of interest in people and human nature, questioning/assessing things so he has a personal and independent view on life. Creating in him an interest in nature and the things around him. He has a philosophic and understanding attitude to many things in life. As a father I am really happy he has an individual sense of identity, is artistic, creative and is liked by so many people.
My hero:
One of a few: Bruce Lee who is more commonly known as a kung fu martial arts film star. But his background which is less commonly known involve the process of self learning. He studied philosophy at university. He was very innovative with his approach to martial arts not so much in the physical combat sense but in adapting it to each individual. Combat or fighting skills were only the surface of the discipline. He was more interested in each person finding their own motive to express the art. He made it a process of self dicovery by helping people to think and create things for themselves. What may work for a small light person may not work for someone who is larger or heavier. Through the process of questioning what is natural and inherent within the physical process of the individual helps them to develop the answers to perform the art as an individual. Instead of following a system that is more regimented and structured in a less adaptive way where everyone does exactly the same thing, he motivated students to think individually and work with their natural skills. These skills became more developed as people reflected on their own mind body connection. You harmonise with the opponent to adapt and flow to do the appropriate techniques. The whole process he advocated becomes a reflection of the challeges in life.
